i already know that its a metal but what kinda family is it in like alkali metal etc?

Gallium is in group IIIA of the Periodic Table, below boron and aluminum, but above indium and thallium. So it forms Ga3+ salts and oxide. It has a low melting point, it's "almost" a liquid like mercury at room temperature.
