Is there such a walkie talkie that get a 30 plus mile range?

In general there are no Walki-Talkies that get a 30 mile range. The only exceptions are due to climatic conditions, in which there is a skip or a bounce. Police band WTs are usually on a system with a repeater, which picks up the radio signal and transmits it further. The average Radio Shack ones are good for about a quarter of a mile.

Depending where you live, that has a great determination on distance covered. The best devices I have seen is the glorified walky talky/phone Mike network I do not know if something like that exists where you live, but our company had them. and we could talk to one another on our network from Windsor Ontario to Somewhere past (east of) Montreal Quebec Canada, that being a distance of well over 800 miles. That might be an option for you, check into it. More and More areas of the continent are getting wired for this
