a triangle is not 3d. It is made up of 3 straight non parallel lines and these define a shape that exists on a flat surface.

If you're thinking of a shape that is based on a triangle but is 3d, then you need to decide the process by which you build a 3d shape from a 2d shape. If you lay a lot of triangles of the same size and shape right on top of each other such that they overlap, you will make a triangular prism. You could also take a series of triangles that are of the exact same shape but progressively get smaller and smaller till they disappear and stack these up to make a triangular pyramid. Or you could take 3 sticks (which are basically cylinders) and put them together to look like a hollow triangle. In each of the above cases, the surface area is different. There are infinite ways you can convert a triangle into a 3d shape, so think about which one you want the surface area of before I can answer again.

Area of a single triangle is 1/2 base x Height

So the surface area of a 3x3 Triangle would be 3 x (1/2 B x H).

If you mean a quadrangle, such as that appearing on a pyramid (3 triangles and a square base), then the answer would be

4 x (1/2 B x H) + (4 x B) =

Would be called a prymid, 1/2b*h *3 if all sides are the same + the bottom area, if not 1/2 b*h 3 different times, and add them together (plus bottom SA). Good Luck!

By definition, a triangle is a 2D shape.

Tell you what, I'll answer this when you tell me the perimeter of a round square
