My son had almost 6 teeth by the time he was about 5 months old. He began teething at 3 months and had 2 teeth. The first 2 were the front bottom then the 2 next to those then the 2 front teeth on top. Many children vary on when they get teeth. I know some moms whose babies didn't get teeth until they were about 8 months. Everyone is different.

Some babies are actually born with teeth, but most begin around 6 months...although some don't teeth until much later.
Most babies will get cranky, drool and chew on things. The best thing to give a child while teething is Tylenol or Ibuprofen...the oragell (sp?) does not really work, it tastes nasty and only works for a very short time....good luck

Some babies are born witha tooth or two already in place!

Other children may not develop any teeth until they are more than a year old. Usually, however, the first tooth - which tends to be in the middle of the lower jaw - appears at around six months of age. The complete set of 20 primary teeth (baby teeth) is usually present by the age of two-and-a-half years.

The drooling that starts around 3 months of age is not teething drool, rather a digestive tract thing.

Believe it or not, babies can even be born with teeth! So there's no sure age for it to begin.

Generally I think it starts around 8 or 9 months. My baby is 5 months old, and so far, no teeth!

My first daughter drooled excessively, cried a lot, and when you ran your fingers along her gums you could feel a noticable bump where the first tooth was coming through. Sometimes they get a fever. Mostly what you'll notice is crabbiness!

They can be born with teeth! Had a friend whose baby had her 2 bottom teeth at birth.

They may drool, sometimes they run a low grade fever, they may pull at their ears, their gums may be a little red and irritated, they may start chewing things to relieve the pressure in their gums.

The first to come in are typically the 2 bottom teeth so I would look there. I think on average they come in around 4 to 6 months. My daughter was a year old but she drooled from 6 months on. Teething was a non-event for my children but can be very trying to others.

Some babies are actually born with teeth. Just watch for tons and tons of drooling and a cranky kid!!! Normally the gums will be white on top where the teeth are trying to come in.

The earliest baby teething I have heard of was 3months. The signs usually are diarrhea, fever, and the baby becomes very cranky.

I've babysat babies who were teething at 3 months. The most obvious signs are very heavy drooling, wanting to chew on everything in sight, and very cranky. Massaging the gums or baby orajel can help with the pain, and also infant tylenol. I've also used a washcloth, wet it, put it in the freezer til it gets stiff, then let the baby chew on it. It numbs the gums since it's cold and also gives them something to chew on. I've given them popsicles also.

Good Luck! I'm glad my girls are way over that stage! LOL
