No carollers round these parts for some time either. I would be happy to hear "Merry Christmas" and would appreciate a few of the old standbys.

If you believe in Christmas then that was the spirit of it! What song they sang should be irrelevant to you. What is wrong with being wished a Merry Christmas anyway.
I dont celebrate Christmas but if they come singing I thank them politely and suggest they move on to houses with decorations! The carol or song is irrelevant.
I think it is nice to see children still following a tradition. A lot of parents are afraid to give their children the freedom to do it. In my day it was all the neighbourhood kids who went round and a full carol at each house too but it really was safer to do it then!

The carols don't bother me, it's all those people packing into the bars that only go at Christmas, makes it harder to get a drink. or the fact that every thing has to be done before Christmas, I'll see you before Christmas, can we have it delivered before Christmas and so on, you would think that the world was ending at Christmas

Give me a £5'er and I'll tell you, it became commercialised and the sad thing about it is how early the shops start it. The sad thing is they say they are doing it for us The CONSUMER!. Yeah right their doing it to line their pockets. Has any one else notice as soon as it becomes November, They get the fireworks out the Halloween costumes Oh and the Santa costumes as well next year i might dress up as Santa for Halloween YEAH NOT A BAD IDEA I MUST RIGHT THAT DOWN.

Sweet! Haven't seen people caroling for many years. You are so very right. I somehow get the feeling that the evil rulers of this world are in the process of making Christianity illegal. The kingdom of the Antichrist is coming.

Whaddya mean, what happened to the spirit of Christmas!? It was standing on your front porch, singing!
Who cares WHAT carols they sing. It's great just having them around. That's the true spirit of Christmas.

Maybe its cus you might get fined for inciting Religious beliefs?

Who knows in this day in the U.K.

I think generally people are affraid of offending someone these days an its a safe song to sing, yeah thats a sad way of looking at it but might just be true.

Its funnie though in any other country would'nt you just be interested in what's tradition in that place?
I resent the fact its not like that here.

Wow, I'm impressed you had carollers. We never see them anymore. That is the spirit of Christmas, I'm sorry you missed it.
