that have the exact same spelling but mean different things (i.e. Tradition and tradition). I think it might be homophone, but I'm not sure.

I don't think it is called anything in particular. For example the word "run" has many different meanings. However, words that sound the same but are spelled differently and have different meanings are called homonyms or homophones. For example, heir and air.
