The "Your computer is infected" warning is a scam.

It is a scam to attempt to get you to purchase a rogue malware removal product. The popup about infection is false, phony and fradulant. The actual trojan that has caused your problem is no doubt one of the hundreds (now in the thousands)of varients of what is commonly called "Zlob".

But your computer is indeed infected. This infection is called Smitfraud and it will give you phony scam virus warnings( and often redirect you to a site selling a bogus anti virus product), trying to sell you junk such as Pest Trap, Virus Burst, Spyware Quake and other non working anti virus apps.

To remove go here, download the free, specialised tool called SmitFraudFix v2.126 and follow the procedure.

And here is another removal tool and procedure to remove Smitfraud:

Good luck.

Do the pop ups appear of their own accord? like when you are visiting legitimate web sites or even just opening windows explorer - this could be a virus - i had one like this a while ago that was a real bugger to get rid off - like you, i had firewall, antivrus and a anti spyware tools running but it still managed to creep in under the radar!! - I kept getting messages about pc being infected, and one some to buy some bullsh**t product because my pc was infected - you need to google for the exact messages or advert you get and locate a specific anti virus removal tool for the particular virus you are infected with. After removal of the virus you then need to make sure your anti virus/anti spyware *definitions* are up to date and run a full scan on your system (btw firewalls will not stop viruses or trojans - they can only help keeping attackers out or damage control by keeping viruses in and stopping them from infecting others, sending out emails on your behalf etc). FYI, the Vundu fix solved my problem, very, vey annoying virus, the writers of it should be made to suffer the same inconvenience they make us suffer, if not worse . . .

That's a smitfraud infection, smitfraudfix will take care of it.

Please download SmitfraudFix:
http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.
Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by rebooting the computer,
and repeatedly tapping the F8 key as the pc starts. Choose "Safe Mode" from the options listed.

Once in Safe Mode, open the SmitfraudFix folder again and double-click
smitfraudfix.cmd

Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected
files.

You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the
registry?" answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove
the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.

The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press
"Enter".

The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process;
if it doesn't, please restart it into Normal Windows..
The report can also be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

Note: process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

what website were you on to get this infection, let me guess ? was it limewire or bearshare by any chance., ? these two websites are full of nasty infection's just waiting to invade your computer, and your prize is free downloads for music. in the long term, it's far cheaper to buy music then to have your computer compromised in this way. happy Christmas

Hi. Search for and download some malware removal tools such as AdAware SE, Spybot, and AVG anti-virus. Delete anything they find, reboot, and you should be OK.
