It could be because the coach isn't familiar with you enough and he went with "his guys". It happens all the time. What you need is exposure.

My suggestion is to first develop a chip on your shoulder from being cut, not a grudge, but a chip to prove that the coach made a wrong decision. Next, practice your @$$ off and invest in some instructional videos (because obviously you are not going to have the advantage of one on one coaching this year). Play in as many pick-up games as possible, preferably the ones where the guys who got picked are playing so they can see your skills so your name gets out and the coach can get to be familiar with you. Try to play people who are better than you because that is the best way to get better and to earn respect. Lastly, keep a positive mindframe. There will be bumps in the road, but there will be a time when you look back and see how much you have improved.

Remember, Michael Jordan got cut his sophmore year. Coaches do make mistakes. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about you not making the team this year. Don't get your hopes down, my advice is to keep working hard and to try on getting any team thats not with school. Maybe a summer leage or winter basketball league. If you work hard enought and practice every day you will make the team next year.... Don't give up. Also try to be around the team and coach and make your presence known, the coach will remember you. Sometimes making the team can be a bit of pollitics, and they can hold something against you, like not trying out freshman year.

Ask the Coach why you didn't make the team. S/He is the only one who can answer this question. Also, be PROACTIVE. Don't just ask why, but ask what elements you should work on to improve for next year. At my HS one of our best players (lacrosse) didn't make the JV, but he joined an non-school league, and practiced his balls off. The following year and ended up making varsity.

Also, no offense but you sound awefully sensitive. You need to have very thick skin to play in competitive sports. In general the best athletes are 3 things: physically fit, talented at the sport, and confident (excessivly in most cases).

I played varsity lacrosse, but never went on to play at the college level, mostly because I lacked the attitude / confidence. And looking back, I was probably better off in the art club than lacrosse.

Did you give it 100%? Well if your answer to this question is yes, dont be down or hard on yourself. You can only do the best you can.

Have a talk with the coach-ask him why you got cut. Make sure he tells you the areas you need to improve on. During your off season practice practice practice. You will get better I promise. Dont quit or give up on yourself, if you want it bad enough you will work hard a try it all again next year.

-Never look back, but never regret. Learn from your mistakes.-

Go back next year a better, improved player and show those boys up!!

Hope I helped**

I'm gonna tell you right now, I got cut from JV last year, I was hurt.
It made me a great player that I am now.

I know it hurts, but don't just give up.
Be better than the kids who made the team.

YOU HAVE TO WORK HARD

Ask yourself this "What am I weak at"

Then work on it.

PRAYER REALLY HELPS

I HOPE THE BEST FOR YOU

GOD BLESS

Have you approached the coach and asked why you were cut from the team? Sometimes, they can provide suggestions to help you improve your chances next year for making the team and playing. Coaches tend to like players who like to improve their performance.

The important thing is to keep playing. Your school team is the best option but there are public leagues you can join. Don't let yourself get rusty.

NO IT DID NOT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING WITH NOT GOING OUT YOUR FRESHMEN YEAR. DON'T WORRY MICHAEL JORDAN DID NOT EVEN MAKE THE CUT CUT EITHER, AND HE JUST WORKED A LITTLE HARDER AND HE GOT MOVED UP. U NEVER KNOW U MIGHT BE IN THE NBA.
