Yes...We know it is protected in the first amendment...but, the first amendment protects all free expression (well most), so isnt burning a Mexican flag in protest of illegal immigrants an expression?

okay...i don't have time to search for another article but you all realize that every time someone complains about someone burning an american flag, they are told to be quiet and that it is free speech, but people are called racist and yelled at for burning a Mexican flag.

More facts, please. I was unaware that the distinction you are talking about existed in American law. I was unaware that people could be and are prosecuted for burning "any other flag" besides the U.S. flag.

Thanks for the link. Now I can see more clearly what you are talking about.
Perhaps they are charging him for burning ANYTHING in a wreckless way -- for example, if he had simply started throwing gasoline on a bunch of trash and "wrecklessly" set the trash on fire, he would have been charged with the same thing.
If he gets convicted of this charge of "wreckless burning" then whether or not he has a basis for appeal by relying on Texas v. Johnson would depend largely on how the burning statute reads.

Whoa.
The article stated that Warden was arrested for assaulting a cameraman and damaging public property... not burning a flag.
The act of flag burning itself was not illegal, or the reason for the arrest.
You can burn as many flags from as many countries as you want. As long as you are not physically damaging anything or anyone.
Your point is not proved by this article.

You do realize this man was not arrested for burning the Mexican Flag. Your story even says so. Another erroneous question.
I should be able to give a second thumbs down to this question.

Cite your source, I never heard of anyone being punished for burning any other flag here.

Why would anyone protest immigration, except racists (I.E. 75% of Americans):
"Damn mexicans, wanting a better life here. Oh this whole godamned melting pot makes me mad as hell."
We've done a lot of bad things recently, so it's permissible to burn our flag, just as it's permissible to burn swastikas, Israeli flags, etc.
