I've always heard of this term and I've looked it up in legal dictionaries but never understood what this term means. Could someone please explain the definition of "third party" in a simple manner?

It usually refers to someone who is not a party to the transaction. Perhaps the term "outside party" my be a little more accurate. If you and I have a contract, we are the first party and second party to the contract. Your accountant has nothing to do with the contract and would be considered a third party.

It depends on how its used. Here is one example...
If you have a life insurance policy taken out with a large insurance company and your child is the beneficiary then you are one party, the insurance company is another party, and the child is the third party.

the third party dose not have any concern or interst with the first/second party.

you and your bank are first or first/second parties...if you are put into collections, the collection company is the third pary
