Any ideas to make it feel more festive? Currently, not feeling too holly-jolly.

Get a little tree, call loved ones, make little gifts for everyone back home. Just be happy to be alive, and know that your loved. Hey look at it like this. Maybe this year will be lonely, but maybe it was supposed to be like this. Maybe you wouldn't have all the happiness in your future if you didn't go through this.

You are loved! Merry Christmas!

Have you had time yet to get to know any of the neighbors or the community access. Most towns/cities have a food shelter. It doesn't have to be in a church it could be through The Salvation Army or a local food kitchen. You would be surprised how much you would enjoy yourself and forget all about being alone on Christmas. You will also find a chance to met others who are probably like yourself. New to the area and alone and looking to do something on this holiday. You may find you make new friends and aquintences. Hopefully someone that will ask you , Hey what are your plans for New Years Eve. Plus you will be helping some needy people in your community and you will have to feel good about that.
Good luck with your holiday and do what you feel will help you feel better.

No i'm no longer. considering that i purchased my personal residence i began this little 'custom'. I invite human beings over that i'm afraid will be by myself for the holiday journeys. in effortless words element I ask is that considering that I do the cooking, they ought to freshen up the dishes after the meal. (and that i wash the pots/pans at the same time as i'm cooking to maintain the mess low.) the in effortless words element they favor to convey is themselves. this way it solves 2 complications. i'm no longer by myself and neither are they.

I'm spending Christmas with a family this year but other years I'd go to church. It helps to make a list of hobbies and chores so you can do them when you get bored around the holidays. I hope to start my newest hobby involving digital photography --wish me luck.

Don't look at yourself as being lonely, look at opportunities to spend time with people in the same situation. Go out! Check out a matinee and go to a bar and chat with the people that have to work. Just don't sit and think about it. You may meet a new friend!

Get yourself something you've been wanting. You could volunteer at a shelter on Christmas day to help cheer those who are less fortunate.
