I dont think it makes you a bad person at all!! In fact I personally think it makes you an individual which is a very sexy trait. You do what you think is right, rather than what might be popular. Keep it up.

The problem with the majority of peace loving do-gooders, is the narrow minded tunnel vision, they try and shove down everyones throat. They never look at the whole picture, they have idealized view of the world that is wholey and completely unrealistic. I'm all for peace and stability, but there are measures that must be taken sometimes to ensure this. Just ask a Frenchman where being peace loving got them when Hitler took over their country, basically without firing a shot. Or ask an Israeli why they don't disband their military. Fanatic environmentalists and vegitarians are the worst. I say go to a country that has no environmental policy, that suppresses their people and freedom, peddle you rhetoric there, but you won't because they will shoot you, or you will disappear, or be kicked out of the country. First world countries already are doing what they can, but people continue to whine, most can't comprehend the full impact of what would happen to economies and society as a whole. They seem to think everything would just be hunky dory if we stopped eating meat, stopped cutting down trees, stopped driving cars and flying planes, and disbanded our military, stopped defending ourselves. You hear whining about unemployment now at 5%, stop all these huge industries and you'll have 50% unemployment or more, massive inflation, invasion, then all the peace loving do-gooder activists will be simarily shot, as speaking against the government is a capital crime under some regimes, remember tienammen square massacre, cuba, soviet union, N.Korea. So it doesn't make you a bad person, just an unrealistic one.

Don't know. Don't know you at all.

I think *most* people are peace-loving. Some people understand that war can be a necessary evil, some can't. Conversely, some people think that abortion is fine, others see it as murder.

I'm a peace-loving do-gooder myself. I wish we didn't have wars or murder or rape. I volunteer most of my summers working mainly with children. (I don't work in the summer.) So if being a peace-loving do-gooder makes you a bad person, scoot on over - you're going to have LOTS of company.

Well, that depends. Peace loving do gooders have a tendency of sitting around waiting for someone else to come along and take care of the things bad people do. So would the one who appeases the bad person be bad as well? But it is true it takes all types to make the world work, so as long as you know yourself there is good in that.

You are probably a very good person as a "do gooder" but sometimes it gets lost in application and understanding by others.
As always doing the good thing is not doing the right thing.
One could be considered a pacifist who also believe they are doing good.
The fact is everyone must follow their own conscience and act accordingly regardless of the label attached by others.
If I were you I would not be too concerned with some of the answers you get in these YA as there are a lot of stupid contributers out there.

Yep sorry but do gooder's make it harder for justice and means the victims are the ones paying the price!.
If it was up to me i would say bring back capital punishment,
And before you call me an old fart I'm 23 years old. I believe we should smack children no i don't mean beat em silly either but a good smack nether did any harm i know!. Some people would say smacking is wrong but i had the slipper and the shoe and i turned out all right. I think that when children don't respect their parents they go off the rails. For example my mum and dad smacked me i turn out fine they don't smack my little brother he goes out and comes in when he feels like it tell them to f*ck off.He has been suspended from school, doesn't go any way when he is told to. And now is facing be expulsion. Now you tell me being a do gooder is doing any good at all?.

If it wasn't for people like you then the Berlin wall would still be up, there wouldn't had been an outcry over Tiannemen Square and only rich men would be able to vote in this country. Protests and agitation lead to reform - in extreme cases, revolution (although Britain hasn't seen this yet). I wouldn't accept the labels others bestow upon you but keep fighting for what you believe in and join a group that shares your beliefs.

Of course not, but you have to understand that there are a lot of hateful people online. Asking questions like this is giving them permission to insult you. It's their hobby. They enjoy it. They hate people, especially those who like and/or want to help others. Pity them, then ignore them, and finally be glad that they are spending so much time online so you won't have to meet them in real life.
