i keep hearing this cricket like noise in my basement when I do laundry what do you think it is?

I've never known a cockroach to make noise except for the scurrying sound their legs make in the sink when a light goes on (these are the large water roaches). The small ones never, unless you have exceptional hearing. Could it possibly be a small drip in the pipes behind the wall that you can't see?
Next time you hear it, you need to search it out and find the source. If it stops as you get near it - it's a cricket. Otherwise you may need to get someone out to check out your pipes.

its not a cockroach they make ruffling noises when they go through stuff and they go sniff sniff sniff and crickets make that annoying screechy sound. if i were you i would call pest control and do you know any codes that are in the hershey candies. like reese's, take 5 , etc.

if it sounds like a cricket it must be like a cricket or maybe a loose pipe of something like a rat eating a cricket while it cricks it last crick before it dies

its probably a cricket, my daughter was standing here when i clicked on this question and said "I lived with roached for years and never heard them make sounds" her mothers house was overran by roaches very bad. now i have custody of her (thank god)
