The exam is expensive, £85 a go. I'm currently in semester 3, just how desirable is this qualification?

[anybody with personal experiences of this exam?]

I'm complaining because the exam is a big rush, as i've seen from feedback, and it's 55-65 questions inlcuding a few labs i have to do in 90 minutes, and i struggle to do that many questions without virtual labs in that time. I'm not a fast thinker, and i don't want to keep trying over and over, i would hate the feeling of wasting my money.

I'd say yes, but then I'm a certification junkie. I want to get CCNA myself too one day, but I've got a long way to go. I don't know what semester 3 means.

Why are you whinging about the money? It's not dear at all. I payed £103 for each of my Microsoft exams. So £206, and I'm only MCDST. (and I failed first time, so over £300, but I've not complained once.)

Well I am doing CCNA right now but I also did CCENT which provided me with some more stuff but if you know basics like RIP and all you could go into CCNA.

seems worth it if you are happy to work, initially, at layer three of the ISO model.
Cisco are quite expensive compared to other competitors so bear that in mind but the course will give you a very good grounding for edge devices and can then be expanded up and down the OSI model e.g. if you wanted to get into transmission etc...

I have only done the first semester of CCNA, and then I had to pull out because of personal problems with my health. It is totally worth it , do it, you will not regret it, it will look really good on your resume.
People I know who have done it all have really good high paying jobs, in banks, education facilities and goverment places, IT support etc.
