For starters, if you don't have a lot of money in your family, I would say you're not gonna get it.... If however you do have a lot of money in your family than, no offence here but... you're probably a spoiled brat and "mommy and daddy" will probably buy you anything to keep you happy.
You don't just decide you're gonna get a horse unless you have A) money to buy the horse and boarding costs B) have your own stable C) are willing to take riding lessons and learn all you can about care for the horse and D) all of the above things!!
This is not something you can convince your parents of...that's like trying to convince your parents to buy a castle so you can feel like a princess at home... you know? Having a horse is a huge responsibility and it's not like a dog where you can play with it for a while and then let somebody else take over.... with a horse you have constant bills...stable/boarding, food, riding gear, training, vet bills, etc. Perhaps your parents have thought about all this more than you.... take a look at your age, what you do around the house, what money YOU have (your personal bank account) as well as what money your parents have, and what other pets you've owned growing up and how much you took care of them, then think about how much of your life you want to dedicate to your horse and see if it's what you truly want...cause if you're not willing to dedicate at least 5 years to it, training, riding, caring for, then you should forget the idea.

I would start by showing them how respoinsible you are with chores at home then i would ask them if you could voulnteer at a stable so you could see whether you really want to have a horse or not i would also suggest saving money so that if they change thier minds you are able to put your own money into buying it, vet bills, farrier bills, feed cost, etc. also get books about horses and read up on them give them the pros and cons of owning a horse i would also suggest geting riding lessons if your not taking them already that way when you get your horse your ready to ride it also make sure you and your parents can afford a horse if you do a lot of research and put in your best effort you will get a horse best thing is to work hard and if you really want it they will see how hard your working for it maybe you could talk about leasing if not owning?

If you have no horse experience take some riding lessons most teachers will teach you how to care for a horse as well as ride and when you do buy a horse they will help you find the perfect horse for you
This wil help you know if you can really take on the responsibility
Remember if you will keep a horse at your house you must have two because horses are herd animals and are unhappy alone and can become depressed

Find a local schooling barn and ask your parents if you can take riding lessons. Talk to the instructor or the barn manager about helping out afterschool and on the weekends. But what ever you do, keep your grades up, or this will back fire. After a while your parents will see that you are taking this seriously, and may reconsider buying you a horse.

A horse is a huge purchase. You know that you would take care of it, but where will the money come from. Vet bills, vaccinations, farrier bills. Get a job and show your parents you are a very responsible person and that you will help financially and physically. Good luck : )

Prove to them that you can do things around the house by not being told to do it. Like your regular responsibilities...or chores. If you can do that on a regular basis for a good while, then they just may get you a horse. If you haven't been doing that, then maybe you can plan on the horse next year.

Show them that you are responsible, and show them that you can take care of a horse, see if they will lease you a horse first that way they will know you will take care of it before they buy you one. Good luck.

Show them that you are responsible. Up your grades in school, be more polite do some community service. Show them you're responsible and that you are going to take care of that horse.
