i was wondering becuase i am writing a story and i don't want to be super clichè (sp?)

if there isn't one i could make the story around something else. any suggestions? something that would cause a person to try and escape an institution?

oh yeah and if i am being offensive...i'm sorry.

Epileptic seizures can have that effect on you.

This could make for an interesting story if the person wasnt aware they were epiletic because after each seizure the person could find themselves in 101 different locations, positions, clothes or situations. The person who cares most is usually there beside the epileptic and could be seen as "the one whos trying to kill me" and the reason for the escape

anyway ... lots of luck with that ;)

Delirium. A change in consciousness that develops over a short period of time, typically a few hours to days. Patients find it difficult to pay attention or to think clearly and have reduced awareness of their environment.

Dementia. A progressive deterioration of brain function that is marked by impairment of memory, confusion and inability to concentrate.

Amnesia, or amnestic disorder. Involves a significant loss of the memory, although there is no loss of other cognitive functions as there is in dementia.

Dissociative amnesia: Sudden loss of memory for personal info, usually about a traumatic event

Dissociative fugue: Loss of memory for entire life, including personal identity

There are mental disorders that are called Dissociative Disorders. Check out the DSM-IV-TR. It has a lot of good information. Also, check out the link below. I hope this helps!

Good luck on your story!

Yes, it is called alcholism, and they black out from drinking. Not offensive, just true.
