I am switching to YAZ from nuvaring my period started last thursday and today is tuesday can i start it today? imissed the first day of my period and the sunday start date. is it ok to start today as long as i use back up method for 7 days>

If you start taking them during your period then you should be protected after taking seven active tablets in a row. If your period has finished then you may have already ovulated and will have to wait until after you shed the egg during your next period for your pills to be effective. Start taking them now anyway, to be on the safe side.

If you start today, use back-up method for the entire month until you get your next period... It's always best to start same-day as period or Sunday start b/c you know it is more accurate with your body's schedule. I would reccommend waiting until next month just to be on the safe side.
