"All the world is a stage"
Perhaps it is time to try your hand in drama. I am sure you watch anime subbed instead of dubbed, b/c it is just ten times better that way. Fear not, most fiction is an imitation of the best and worst things in life. Now that you have emersed yourself so well in the medium, why not branch out. Start writing you ideas, be original, and take a few steps toward civilization, since you will need resources to become a master of your gifts.
Think about these questions:
Do you see imperfections/inconsistencies in anime?
Do you prefer some styles of drawing vs. others?
Can you describe the subtle differences in the arts?
Do you like well rounded characters, simple characters, or both?
Do you find yourself in favor of villians more than heros?
And most importantly, do you BELIEVE that you have the potential to make some kick *** anime?
I know when I watch anime, subbed only, all I am after is a great story line. Sometimes, I get caught up in very long sagas that turn into fillers, and they end in the weakest possible fashion. I spend most of my time studying, and hanging out with friends. That's good and all, but I need more media...anime is there for when Hollywood is bent on making crappy movies. However, it seems like most animes end without any reasonable closure, or valuable life lesson. At least Hollywood ends with the guy getting the girl.
IF YOU CAN MAKE SOME GREAT STORIES WITH YOU NEWLY ACQUIRED SKILLS, please do so.
I warn you that animation does not pay nearly as well as...well, a teacher, and they complain about pay all the time. So, you might want to think of reasonable careers to focus on while working on your hobby. And no this, most great writers go out and see the world for their inspiration. Don't go ripping off, the 90 some percent of anime that does not even encourage me to think.

You have an addiction and must accept reality however boring it is in comparison. If you need to, then talk to your friends and family, you may think that they are against you but they are such a wealth of wisdom and can give you advice and make you realise that they're not so bad after all.
Besides, too much anime and you become a geek, and notice how most anime characters have lives and arn't geeky??? Where does that leave you?

That's pretty sad but I'm not shocked. I'm English but living in the US, and I read that over here, a large percentage of the population can't even point out the United States on a globe, or something insane like that. People never cease to disgust me.

I don't think so. But you might want to spend more time with your "real" friends before they start thinking you HAVE gone crazy.
