I have very, very pale skin and am looking for a shade that will look good with my skin tone. Every shade that I've tried has had too much orange or blue in it.

I have a fabulous OPI color on right now... but I didn't check the name of it! I decided on it becuase it matched a pair of red shoes I was wearing for an event.

Like you, I am very, very pale. If I'm looking for something that is hip and in, I usually ask the manicurist his/her opinion given my skin tone and the type of thing I am looking for.

Another option is to check out OPI's website. They have an awesome "Try it on" tab that you can scroll through the colors and "try" them on a fake hand. Once you get to the nail salon, you can take a look at them in person and make a decision.

Also, remember that fluorescent lights change the color of your skin. Incandescent makes it go (red or blue) and fluorescent makes it go (red or blue). I forget which one goes with which, but I'm sure you can ask and find it here or find it online.

I personally just can't wear red polish, it looks fake or something ,, It's just too much.. Interesting enough, I over heard a lady saying the same thing at a make-up counter in Macy's ..
she said everyone she knew could wear red polish and it looked fine on them, but even her family said she just didn't look right with bright red nails, I would go with a less glossy red on the darker side of the red chart,, That was the advice given ... Hope It Helps, But I'm Sure You Will Look Nice Whatever Shade You Choose .. Good Luck

Ok, I know this will sound stupid, but try the red nail polish you can find at Hot Topic. It's a very very rich sort of red, and I have pale skin too, (although I like that) and it looks great with mine.

have you tried a darker red.
personally i look silly with bright red nail polish.

or i guess you could have them done professionally and ask the manicurist what shade to wear.

Try Malaga Wine by OPI. It's my ultimate favorite holliday color (I'm wearing it right now actually and so is my daughter) not too dark not too light, just perfect.

i LOVE jordana. they have metallic, neon, and pastel colors. i love ruby red. it's bright with little sparkles. but i'm afraid that bright colors might draw attention to pale skin.
