1/4 bale alfalpha daily, 15-25 lbs. of herbivore-diet pelleted food with a five gallon bucket full of carrots and apples. You do the math. it's expensive. You also have to have an extrordinarily strong housing unit that is large with a very large pool. They crap alot so figure in the cost of the water bill. And insurance. And permits. And veterinary costs.

hmm... well I would guess a hippo eats about 5 pounds of whatever they eat a day... I will guess the 5 pounds of what they eat costs $10.00 if bought in a large load that will feed it every day for a month... I guess.... around $200.00

They eat about 100 pounds of grass a day, so just start mowing lawns with a bag catcher on and it's free. People would appreciate you mowing their lawns for them, you might even actually make money rather than spend it.
