My scorpion died today and I have absolutely no idea why. He's been refusing to eat for a few weeks now. The pet shop said it was probably due to the winter or molting. Is it possible that he had an internal parasite or something? Any ideas would be appreciated, as im baffled.

Firstly Spiders are creatures that has a life in the wild. The different nature brought by by people into the spider causes itself to have discomfort. It may feel unsafe and may have died out of so called "suicide". It realeses this venom from one of its glands and secetes it into its digestive region. This is the cause for not eating for a few days. Once the venom reaches its peak, it then sort of like acidify the digestive region and burns everythin inside, and eventually it dies. This process of dieing may take some times. It's all on the type of the spider. Different types of spider has different period.

There is really no way to be sure, if it stopped eating it could have died from that or because it stopped drinking. Ours died when it stopped drinking and there just isn't much you can do about it. Treatment just isn't possible.
