Homeopathy is illogical,if you boil and boil a substance down, nothing of medicine in water ,all destroyed in watering down, yet people think the "Energys "of previous substance will be there and active...They are destroying the substance to nothing..The rest invented by that German guy is a good portion,of witch doctorery...Homeopathys just a fad, a complementary indulgence, for the mentally fragile and materially indulgent..In a way homeopathists are exploiting the sick, just to get a small job..HOMEOPATHY IS JUST PLACEBO

Dear William, Are you from Mars ?
How can you put up such a statment without even trying to verify it. I am 100% sure that you have not ever tried any Homeopathic remedy in your life and yet you say that its Placebo. How do you justify the success of Homeopathy on Children and Animals ? Just try the Homeopathic Remedy ARNICA when someone is hurt with a sprain strain or injury and tell me its placebo :-) ! Go ahead since you say its Placebo, try it and prove me wrong. Give a child who is crying and is restless while teething CHAMOMILLA 30 and tell me can any sort of PLACEBO medicine have that effect ?
Action talks a lot louder then words, please verify it and prove me wrong. Don't give me utter pessimists reviews who will keep on calling it placebo no matter what it achieves :-) !
And Homeopathy is the new school of smart medicine which cures without any side effects and it cures not just temporary relief complete cures.and for your information Homeopathy has been around for more then a 100 years now so not exactly a Fad as you call it .
Its very easy to call it placebo on heresay try it and prove that its placebo.
Take Care and May God Bless you with some wisdom :-) !

what it would take for me is to hear all 'scientific' skeptics say that their own 'double bind , peer reviewed ' studies are all skewed, biased, and would not and do not hold up to the very scrutny that they apply to other modalities of medicine , and that is their own medicine, not even a different modality. That they just tar , feather and bully any thing they dont want to compete with. Like they do at this site. You might as well ask the same questions about 'medicine' and homeopathy. You cannot prove 'medicine ' works either. It doesnt work in the studies done correctly by the scientists, the only time it increases is when placebo is in effect. If steven hawkins book The Grand Design' turns out to be anything, then i am sure it will be messed up or refuted also one day. If the concept of 'God' had not been so butchered by man already , then one has little left to believe that there is a real 'god'. I'm sure there will be many step up to take that position , as history proves.

Not everything work for everybody and this is a fact both for homeopathy, modern medicine and any other alternative medicine. Also it is a fact that they are bad homeopaths but surely nobody believes that all GP’s are good!? As in any profession there are good and bad people, people helping and people exploiting others weaknesses.

I am not saying that you should only believe in homeopathy and forget about modern medicine but please inform yourself better and do try things before rejecting them.

There are reasons why homeopathy work better on children and animals. The first one is that they do not have any views on whether it is going to work or not and therefore they don‘t know anything about the placebo concept. The second reason is that, in most cases anyway, their bodies have not yet been polluted by things such as cigarettes, alcohol which may affect or counteract the effect of homeopathic remedies. Does it not make sense since for example alcohol counteract the effect of most medication? So if you are going to try anything, make sure you et well informed and follow the rules just the same way you would do for normal medication.

I have used homeopathy for the first time as a teenager for depression and also I cannot say I was the happiest person in the world whilst using the remedy, I certainly was far from depressed. Can you honestly tell me that it would have been in my best interest to take chemical anti-depressant at the age of 14-15 and take the risk to become addicted to it when I suffered no side effect with an homeopathic remedy ?? I am sure it would not work for everybody but if it does, Who cares if it is a placebo!!!?

A few years ago I had a reaction to a medication that was prescribed to me for back pain and I suffered terrible heartburns and indigestions. I ended up with a 3 month course of tablets for my stomach as over the counter antacid-like remedies were not strong enough. Things got better but I still suffered quiet a ridiculous amount of heartburns until I discovered aromatherapy and oil of peppermint. Now why would I spend £3 every week on a box of antacids when a bottle of peppermint cost me no more than £5.00 for a YEAR since after a few weeks things got so much better that I now only use it very occasionally?? I was also using an homeopathic remedy when I started to use peppermint. Knowing this I am not so stubborn and narrow-minded that I would not touch an antacid tablet for the rest of my life. I have a pack in my bag just in case as it handier to carry than a bottle of peppermint oil.

Homeopathy is not only there because there are people trying to exploit the sick, it still exists because a lot of people know it can help. I keep seeing everywhere that there are no scientific proof that such and such plants have such effects but why is it that no official and proper research is done on them?? Only a few plants like garlic were subjected to it. Everywhere you read that there is no proof that such herbal remedy works but I rarely see written that it is proven that such remedy or such plant does not work at all.

What if they are? What is wrong with placebos so long as they work?
Clinical trials for most of the modern drugs that we have today acknowledge that as many as 30% of the trial subjects given the placebo replacement for the trial drug, experience a benefit (get better).
If it's good enough to work when you don't know if or not you are getting an actual drug, why shouldn't it work when you know you are getting something that's supposed to cure you?
And - - - - - - - - -even minute, apparently untraceable amounts, of toxins have been shown to affect the human body - why not beneficial substances?

Anxiety drugs only work in 1/3 of patients- physiologically. Another 1/3 believe the drug works, so their anxiety evaporates. The other 1/3 go from drug to drug because they believe nothing works. Homeopathy has been around a lot longer than westernized drugs- hardly a fad.

Homeopathy required 2 things: highly trained doctor and highly disciplined patient. It treats not the disease, but body and mind as whole. The best in homeopathy is if the remedy was not prescribed accurate it will NOT make any harm. You really should find a good book which will explain how it works - it is impossible to give you a short and direct answer. Try to open your mind without anger, really...

Boiling? What boiling? Your uninformed diatribe diatribe has nothing to do with homeopathy.
Homeopathy's crime is that it is inexpensive and curative. We are on the hit list of the Drug Lords and their pusher minions. What ever middle-level, conventional medicine might say about homeopathy, our cure rate is 3 times theirs.
Placebo, my ****.

the placebo effect does not work on animals. Homeopathy has been very successful in treating alot of ailments and conditions in horses and pets. How do you explain that?

ARE YOU PEOPLE FOR REAL???? Haven't you ever heard of aspirin. It originated from the willow tree. This is just one example of homeopathy. Oh and what about anti-bacteria. Like oh I don't know PENICILLIN. For you ignorant ones it's made from mold. How much did the "drug lords" pay you to write this ignorance!?

Why do you think our ancestors survived into their 90 to 100 plus age ranges? Look at the bases for modern medicines.Herbs. Our ancestors used and lived off the land with. That our meds are stii based on. Add the chemical additives. Those chemicals added are what is killing and wreaking havoc with our health today. Look at the mortality rate now! Great that you gave perspective. I had to give mine.
