All you can really do is explain how it is impossible for you to have started the rumor in the first place.

Explain:

A: I don't even know what your talking about, because this is the first time I even heard this rumor

B: I may know the people in the rumor, but had no idea about what may or may not have happened.

C: Whoever told you that I started the rumor, was probably the one who started it in the first place, and found that blaming me was an easy out.

D: I have much more important things to do with my time then make up little lame *** stories about you and your little lame *** life.

E: Let them know that if it's not true, to stop making such a big deal about it or people are going to start believing it.

F: This might be a good time to run like hell, that is if they are way bigger then you.

No real answer for this one.

Rumors on rumors are out there and will always be. You could either try to ignore it or
spread another one that would cross the other one out.

Like the original rumor is "Lucy told everyone that Stacy did Jon."

just spread another one that says "Lucy didn't tell anyone that Stacy did Jon because her grandmother was sick. Stacy wanted everyone to know that she did Jon."

lol.

You can tell them this: seems like the chicken that cackled first laid the egg. Don't worry about it. Many people in high school are shallow. Don't let them run your life. Best of luck to you.

My suggestion is to lay low and if someone mentions it deny it. Its almost X-mas and it should die out by the time you get back to school.

Good luck

Let it go. They'll get over it. And in 3 years none of it will matter anyway.

Don't own what people say about you, your behavior, motives, etc. If it's not true, carry on. Don't own it.
