Yes they can - it can happen for many reasons but the most common is "chord prolapse". This is when the umbilical chord comes down the vaginal canal before bub's head and the circulation from the chord is cut off. The baby can become distressed and die. The chord can also get hooked around the baby's neck.

Yes. Until the umbilical cord is cut and the baby is breathing on its own, it is susceptible to the conditions the mother is facing at the time. The cord could be wrapped around the child's neck. the child could be breech. The child could get stuck and have it's oxygen cut off which could lead to brain damage. A million things could go wrong. But, it goes Right a million times a day too.

Unfortunately yes, but not of its own accord, it would have to be cause by something like a cord around the neck not picked up on or very hight bllod pressure in the mother not noticed ect, something would have to go very wrong but yes it does happen.

unfortunately things can go wrong. My mother had my elder sister two years before me. My mother felt her move right up to the labor. Her cord was wrapped around her cord. My family said she was perfect. This was in the late sixties and i believe that there is more medical advancement since then to keep a closer eye on both mother and child.

It could happen if there was major complications during the delivery, like being stuck in the birth canal too long or cord wrapped tightly around the neck.

Anything is possible. The baby could be healthy inside, and then complications with the delivery could change things. Same thing goes for the mom to be, no woman is closer to death then they are while giving birth.

YES UNFORTUNATELY A PERFECTLY HEALTHY BABY COULD DIE DURING CHILD BIRTH.
IT COULD HAVE THE UMBILICAL CORD AROUND ITS NECK.
ITS HEART RATE COULD DROP AND THE BABY COULD SUFFER DISTRESS.
THERE ARE A NUMBER OF THINGS THAT COULD GO WRONG!
BUT, WE ALL HOPE FOR THE BEST.
DON'T WORRY EVERYTHING WILL BE ALRIGHT.
THE DOCTORS ARE VERY WELL EQUIPPED FOR CHILD BIRTH,AND THEY HAVE DONE MANY, HUNDREDS IN FACT.
THEY ARE PREPARED FOR ANYTHING.
THERE ARE MANY COMPLICATIONS THAT COULD ARISE, BUT, FOR THE MOST PART BABIES ARE FINE.
YOUR'S WILL TO!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Sadly yes. Especially if they get wrapped in the cord (my nephew Charlie was still-born for this reason.).

Anything is possible. When I was delivering my son he hit my pelvic bone, and went into shock. He was completely healthy and still is.
