Something that is noisy. 2 year old's love to make noise. I work at a daycare as lead teacher in the toddler room (2 yr. olds) Something that might be nice is a toy that is noisy, but also a learning based toy at the same time. A great on is the leap frog Learn & groove musical table, I don't know how much you want to spend it's about $30-$35 or so. Another one I really like, also by leap frog is the fridge phonics set. It comes with the 26's letters and a little machine that you put each letter in and it sings a little song with how to pronounce the letter. Since it's magnetic the kids have fun with it, pushing the letters around on the fridge and arranging them how they want and as they get older you can help them spell little words.
Just throwin some ideas out there for you.I'm sure whatever the toy is as long as they get to open it up and it's all their's the child will love it! Merry Christmas!

My daughter turned 2 this halloween and she likes anything noisy. I bought her a lot of instruments and she likes maracas the most. Also, because kids spend so much time in the tub, I buy tons of tub toys. They get boring (not to mention soap-scummy) real fast so they need to be replaced often.
