I recently moved and have to adjust to a loud refridgerator. does anyone know of any techiques to make it quieter?

if it's the condenser fan, clean around it. If it's the compressor, there's nothing, short of leveling the fridge that you can do.

I know this sounds stupid,but. I had one that was loud and a repair guy was in there 1 minute and came out and it was quiet. He took the the plug out and turned it around and put it back in. Somehow the switching made the compressor run different.

Put it out on the front porch. That is where mine is, and not only can one hardly hear it in the house, but it is handy as heck when you want a beer the second you get home.

Clean it. If that don't help then its prob the compressor. It will have to be replaced most likely.

only thing i could suggest is to place insulation under the frig maybe that will dampen it some. If that does not work then you should think about trading for another one

clean the coil .
Maybe something is hitting the fan
home cheapo or lowes sells coil brushes for under $ 5.00

it probably an older one and the compressor is going out
