Oh, boy, my friend. You do NOT need to be having sex.

This is NOT an effective method of birth control. She can still get pregnant, and eventually, she will.

Use a condom, and go back to your health class. They should have taught you this in school!

No, no, no, no, no. I can't believe that in this day and age people still cling on to these ridiclous myths!

A woman can get pregnant if she has penetrative sex with a man unless she is using reliable contraception and using it properly. End of story. It doesn't matter what position she's in, whether she pees or coughs afterwards, whether she stands up afterwards, whether he doesn't ejaculate inside her, whether she thinks she's at a safe time of the month, whether she's a virgin ETC ETC ETC!

If you don't want to have a baby (or contribute to the spread of HIV, Chlamydia and other sexually transmitted infections) use a condom!!! You can get them at your corner shop, for goodness sake! If you go to a family planning clinic you can even get them for free!

If you're having sex, take responsibility. Use the internet to look for information about how the human body works and what forms of contraception are out there - try FPA http://www.fpa.org.uk/ - and educate yourself.

If you need an answer to this question then you are too young or too naive to even be thinking of having sex. For goodness sake take your girlfriend out dating instead of staying in having sex. Enjoy yourselves first, think about this, if she gets pregnant you have the next 18 years to pay for the child's upkeep. If you are having sex she can get pregnant no matter what position you try and if you really must have sex for heavens sake use a condom. Try using your brains instead of your other body part

Your girlfriend is right!! Sperm are strong swimmers and can live inside a woman for up to 72 hrs!! So i would advise you and your girlfriend to use some form of contraception. The implant is good as it goes under the skin in your upper arm and lasts for 3 year. In the mean time i would recommend the old faithful- The Condom

Um, no, that is not true. It doesn't matter what position you are in, or what you do afterwards, if you have unprotected sex, there is a chance that you can become pregnant. The only way to prevent this is by using condoms, which has a better success rate than birth control, and is also a safer alternative.

It's not true, not even close to true. Sperm can live inside the vagina for up to 72 hours after intercourse. At some point she's going to sit or lay down. Standing up afterwards does nothing, use a condom, or get on birthcontrol!

It's not true and obviously you need some from of education on the subject. If you are not responsible enough to use contraception to protect you both you are not responsible enough to be having sex. At least your girlfriend has got some sense.

Standing up after sex as a means of contraception?? Blimey we'll be reverting back to the days of Ancient Egypt next and shoving crocodile dung up there.

I hate to sound like a Mom but you shouldn't be having sex if you don't know a thing about it. Did you know that it can create a child that will need to be raised, clothed, fed and taken care of 24/7 for the rest of your life? I know sex can be fun but it can also ruin your life unless you're mature enough to take it seriously.

No, I got pregnant in the shower while having sex. Sperm swim and your womb is somewhat of a safe haven. We were trying but we like upright positiions and the days we got pregnant we were in the standing positions.
