Instead of Boxing Day Sales -- we have the annual "Black Friday" (Day after Thanksgiving Start of the Commercial BIG Purchasing Push) -- then the Day before Christmas Sales (for those procrastinators) ... and the Day AFTER Christmas Sales (for those who did not get what they wanted and/or want to exchange for something different)...

We have sales on Boxing Day, but they're not called that; most American's have probably never heard of Boxing Day.

Yes most of the stores are open full kilt with sales galore and long, long, long lines of people returning and/or exchanging gifts.

It is not called Boxing Day down here though just simply the Day After Christmas

We do, but that's not what they're called. They're usually called After Christmas Sales. I'm surprised you haven't had all kinds of responses asking what Boxing Day is.
