I tend to remember every little detail. It plays like a movie in my mind. I can remember colors (or lack thereof; one dream was entirely in shades of gray), dialogue, and even the random characters that don't exist in real life.
However, if my alarm goes off and I jump out of bed, I only remember one or two scenes.
What are dreams like for everyone else?

It's exactly like you say! If I'm able to wake up at my own leisure, i can remember everything. If I'm torn out of my sleep, I remember nothing. Though I've had times when my alarm clock guest starred in my dreams! I remember I had a dream where I was playing badminton when all of a sudden my racket started beeping. I looked down at it and the handle was flashing 7:00 lol. Sometimes if I have a bad dream, the feeling will stay with me all day even if I can't remember what happened in the dream.

I read that we have at least 6 dreams a night but we can only remember at most 3. All my dreams are in color and the way they are depends on the dream. If there is something in my dream that I really feel like I need to see I always for some reason can't open my eyes completely or I can't focus. If I ever realize I'm dreaming I always like to explore my own mind (as weird as that is) and see what it's like. It's wierd though because once I'm dreaming I will be able to control my real body and dream body.

I only recall dreams if I slept on my back the previous night. The dreams that I remember are usually one or two "scenes", and I remember it like a picture.

I remember the people that were in that scene. What is strange is that the "scene" eventually comes true in my future life. It can be years before I see that "scene", and it can be something I recall dreaming about for a split second. It is the exact same scene, but I have no idea why or what it means.

I suspect it is to warn me, or mabye to tell me to remember to do a certain thing, or make a certain decision. I also suspect that humans have this ability to forsee future events in their dreams, but it is undeveloped.

I have also attempted lucid dreaming, but I can never "remind" myself during my dream.

Umm, for me, i remember every exact detail of what happened even after I wake up. All of my dreams tend to be nightmares instead of dreams, so when I wake up, I still remember every single detail and it really scares me. Then it haunts me through the entire day, and I have the dream replaying in my head over and over again. I had the scariest nightmare when I was in 3rd grade, and it was so scary that I still remember it and what exactly happened. But i wish that I wuldnt be able to remember dreams, because then I culd forget about my nightmares.

The alarm wakes me up everyday so I only remember a few scenes. Sometimes if I think a bit deeper, I remember a few more. That's the farthest I've gone. I can't make it "play like a movie" unfortunately.

Not so well. Usually a dream has to be very unusual or emotionally strong for me to remember it. Maybe I remember 2 or 3 a month, and only for a short time after waking.

If the dream is really vivid than I can remember that dream the whole day. However the next day I can only remember little bits and pieces, its like my brain is forcing me to remember them or somthin', I don't know. Hows that for an answer hemipowerdodge@yahoo.com

I remember my dreams well.
Maybe you should start a dream journal. You can look up the meanings of your dreams.
