The two earliest were MOHENDJERO and HARAPPA.
These exsisted from aproximately 3,000 B.C. to aproximately 1,300 B.C. when they were invaded and devestated by a people coming from the north called ARYANS. These people actually lived for about 500 years in tents, in the streets of these cities when there were magnificant temples and buildings still standing. Later these tribes formed their own city states. One of them being TAXILA. This was the capital of Porus, the Indinian king who was defeated by Alexander the Great. When the battle was over Porus was siting on his elephant and Alexander came up to him on his horse. Alexander ask him how he would like to be treated. He replied "like a king". And Alexander restored him to his throne and made him an ally.
MOHENDJERO and HARAPPA traded with Mesptamia, especially in a semi precious stone called Lapis Lazuli.
