I see no reason why men shouldn't cry. If you feel like crying then cry. It doesn't make you less of a man it just shows that you care enough to let out your emotions and I'm all for men crying. Men crying isn't a sign of weakness like some think it just shows that you aren't afraid to show your feelings. My husband does and I think it's wonderful that he's not afraid to show his emotions. I don't think he's less of a man for doing it. In fact I hate it how men who don't cry think it makes them less of a man because it's not true. Let go of that machoness in you and let out your emotions.

Of course it's acceptable for men to cry. Any tragedy should elicit at least some tears from men. If not, they're probably heartless and shouldn't be heard on the subject. Also, some people (men and women) are just overly emotional and cry easily. This could be due to a physical problem and shouldn't be judged as wrong. Most men need to cry a little more. Holding emotions in is not good for the health. If it's still considered socially unacceptable for men to cry, we need to seriously think about how to change it. What could we do to make it OK for men to express their emotions?

dying and ailment of a family members member. I as quickly as met this guy who harm somebody in a automobile twist of fate. It replaced into his fault, i think he replaced into ingesting and using. i think of he left the different person in a wheelchair, the guy wasn't going to stroll ever returned. i assume he found out that he brought about a great type of harm to someone through appearing some stupid stuff. He would cry popular. Beg to God for forgiveness. He would get inebriated all of the time to forget what he had accomplished. i'm guessing this would be a valid reason. i understand i'd cry or be thoroughly disgusted to myself If I have been to try this.

Some years ago I was taking a Human Communications course for college, and this subject turned up during one discussion. I found it interesting that the opinion was largely divided by age, particularly the opinion of women. Those of us that are younger felt that there was nothing wrong with it, while the older women looked down on it.

IMO I think it is mean for men to be looked down on for it. What uncaring women could actually degrade a man for that; If it's bad enough that he'd let you see him break down, then HUG him instead for heaven's sake.

if it isn't, it should be... they have feelings too

If it is a truly emotional situation like a death or a breakup they never thought would happen or something else really emotional, then I'd say it's ok to cry.

Maybe they are the one that needs comforting. By not crying, they hold themselves from that comfort. It looks like they are too unattached to the particular person or thing involved.

though society has conditioned men not to cry as it is believed it makes them look weak, i think tfhat it is an emotion that was given to exercise. and if an occasion arises which brings a male to tears, i.e. a death in the family or whatever, then i see no harm in a man relieving the stress and tension by crying. i know i did when my mother passed away.

Yes, it just shows their true manhood if they can cry in front of people. I hate when "boys" say only punks cry, because their the punks if they believe that it isn't acceptable to show your emotions.

Socially, no. But I have always disagreed with that. There is nothing wrong with showing emotion. I'd rather be with a crier than an anal retentive psycho who doesn't know how to express their feelings properly.

I think if more men could cry on ocassion, there would be less murders and violence in the world. Unexpressed sorrow turns destructive for some people.
