well, my father bought a new wireless router, but the problem is, that we are needing another ethernet cable, yup ANOTHER. We went to many shops and the don't have it.
My question is, can we use the USB to conect the modem to our computer and then and the ethernet cable to the modem so we can connect also with the router?

We are needing the cable to conect like this Internet modem --- Wireless router --- Computer, so, does that method I mentioned works?

that will not work...the cable modem has both the Ethernet and USB connection so you can use one or the other, not both. The USB connection is for those who do not have a NIC installed in their PC.

I can't believe you can't find and Ethernet patch cable..they have them at drugstores even

Most won't work that way. It's USB or Ethernet but not both.

I can't understand why you can't find an Ethernet cable though. Shoot, even Wal-Mart carries them. So does virtually every office supply store, not to mention computer shops and Radio Shack. Heck, the Home Depot near my place has them too!

Should work fine - I had a set up like this for a while.

Strange that you couldn't buy an ethernet cable, though - should be about the easiest piece of computer equipment to find out there!

I tried the usb and ethernet thing to hook up 2 things to modem once, it didn't work. Of course, ur router may be different, so I can;t say for sure.

CompUSA and any small computer stores should carry ethernet cables - you probably cannot use the USB and ethernet at the same time.
