probably Boston because they were the Boston Patriots from 1959–1971, until they changed it to New England in 1971 when they moved 20 miles away to Foxboro

It is probably Boston, since the team in it's AFL days in the 1960's was known as the Boston Patriots. The reason they became the New England Patroits was a lack of an adequate stadium in the Boston area.
The place they played games at included Fenway Park(built in 1912 capacity about 36,000 and a few bleachers in front of the "Green Monster" left field wall with half the field in the Red Sox infield), Harvard Stadium(a 1903 structure in Cambridge with about 30,000 capacity), Alumni Field(at Boston College in Chestnut Hill with back then about a 25,000 capcity), and Nickerson Field(a bland bleacher structure of 21,000 that looks like a big high school stadium, built on the site of Braves Field after it was torn down in the 1950's). None of the sites were adequate.
In 1971 a somewhat minimalist stadium of 55,000 was built in Foxboro under the name of Schaffer Stadium, for Schaffer beer, and the Patriot moved there. Foxboro is closer to Providence R.I., but for media purposes, Foxboro is covered by the Boston media. So Boston would be the represented area.

Boston?

It wasn't a bad decision all things considered. They will, ALWAYS be the "Boston Patriots" to the hard core fans of Boston no matter where they play.....

And lets face it, the chances of Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine or R.I. ever having their own teams is negligible. Conn. might, but doubtful, re-naming them the "New England Patriots" loses them so little and gains them so much in terms of fan base, I think that it was a brilliant move.........

Boston. The stadium is in Foxboro, Mass. Maybe 20 miles between the two.

They are basicly a Boston Team

None, because if they picked one city, say Boston, then they would alienate fans from other areas like Providence, hartford, worcester, Springfield, etc. Plus, they purposely located their stadium in a place accessib le to all these cities.

Houston, Texas... they r a horrible team that deserve to be classed with the Texans, the Pats have only won by lucky breaks, questionable calls, and just plain old rep.... but if u see through all the haze and u see the real Pats they r lucky to be in the NFL

Foxboro, Massachusetts. They play all of their home games in that city.
