I remember horrid black bits in the mashed potato and worse still liver with 'elastic bands' in (yuk)!
In my school God help anyone who had a birthday because they would get the 'bumps' which meant throwing the birthday victim up in the air several times and then supposidly catching them as they came back down to earth. We never caught them!!!!

You can buy that paper to use at home - the brand name is "Izal".
I remember that the chairs all had WRCC stamped on them - West Riding County Council! The West Riding became part of North Yorkshire in 1974 and these chairs were still in use when I left in 1992. They were almost certainly over 20 years old.
That's one of the things I remember about primary school - how things were always years old - the school was almost like a cr*p antiques shop.

The "Peanut Butter and Jelly" sandwiches that were actually some kind of peanut butter and honey blend stuff, but wasn't really bad.
My politically incorrect, but probably worth a fortune now, Frito Bandito eraser topper.
Frozen pizza that tasted like cardboard.
Trying to look up a piece of recent history in a 1947 set of encyclopedias.
Trying to learn about the space program from a teacher who wanted to know if an Apollo 1 crew member could come visit our class (I'm not trying to make any sick jokes...it really happened!)
Chewy, oily spaghetti. I think they used automatic transmission fluid for the sauce!

I remember all the fights! Our School and another! Oh I'll miss those days! I also remember the chairs being too big for us to sit on, the tables were quite high, the fancy dress competions and (my personal favourite) the "own Clothes day" that came every Christmas!

How weird. I was talking about that tracing paper only yesterday with the other half. Surely it wasn't hygenic. It was cruelty to children.
I remember having to eat a fish with a big stary eye looking up at me. We had it once a week and the dinner lady used to look at me menacingly until I ate it. It used to make me retch!

Yeah I remember that toilet paper. Used to tear your under developed genitals to shreds that stuff.
Those paper towels as well.
How there was always a bloody pet hamster in class, one of those evil ones that would bite you and that on holidays people would fight over who would look after the damn bloody thing. I was always happy when it died.
Only one computer at the back that everyone would fight over.
