The key is to keep up on it. If you spend just a few minutes a day, your room will stay clean. Also, the problem is probably related to a lack of organization, so maybe if you found a system for organizing your stuff that works for you (other than just throwing it on the floor), you will be more apt to maintain the system. I'm sure if you ask your mom, she would be happy to help you get the materials you need to keep your room clean and organized.

Change your motto...."Why put off until tomorrow what you can do today" for starters will help. And if you have a neatness problem as well as not having time to get your room cleaned before going somewhere you want you need to get your priorities straight. Try being neater. Make a habit get your room cleaned up really well and every night before you go to bed maintain your room by picking up what you need to to keep in clean. Then your job won't be so hard when you need to go somewhere a days worth of mess is way easier and faster to clean up after than a week or months worth. Or in your case and eternity's worth

So you not a neat nick, it's OK, here are some cleaning tips. Put all the dirty clothes in a hamper or laundry basket, and any clean clothes away..in a dresser drawer, or hung up in the closet, throw away any and all garbage, change the sheets on your bed, then make the bed. Now clear off anything else that needs it, and most of all making sure to get rid of what you do not need or use, weed it all out and donate any good use items. Then dust and vacuum and your room will be sparkling clean. To keep the room clean, make sure you hang your clothes up and and put things where they belong, and toss out the trash. Best Wishes

Whilst I can relate to your philosophy (an what mum couldn't lol) I know that it can be frustrating when you have to do something to do something else. So try to create less in the first place, make a place for your stuff and drop it there asap when you enter your room, clothes in the hamper all that type of stuff and then mess is a minimum...and while you're cleaning have a bag at the ready and decide whether you really need what you have to put away, if the answer is no pop it in the bag and donate to charity, the less you have the less you clean.

well unless you like the pile up and the extra work it takes to clean up. then put it off until when ever. but if you are having people over for your party and you want things to stay looking nice, then you need to learn to pick up after yourself. if you dirty it, Wash it.
if you open it, close it. if you have a candy bar and it needs the wrapper thrown away, throw it away, garbage is to be thrown as soon as it becomes garbage. if you drink from a glass. clean that glass or use the same one, don't use another one. if you are getting dressed, or undressed. put your dirty clothes in a hamper, and always hang up your clean clothes or jackets.
when you do one thing, then it most always involves the opposite to make sure it is kept clean.. if dirty it, clean it. if you drop it pick it up.. if you start to do this now, you can form a good habit for later on when you have a family to think of.. good luck! and Happy New years to you..

Change you motto to "If I mess it up, clean it up right now" There is not reason for someone's house to be a mess. If you just put things back in their place when you are finished with them, it is so much easier and takes a lot less time. Work on it and see if you don't like the way things are when you don't put it off.

if you get in the habit of putting things where they belong all the time this would not be a problem. Rearrange your room if possible so you can get a "fresh start". Try getting bins if needed for various items.

dont mess it up in the first place. Whenever the room looks a bit untidy, clean it at once so you dont have to clean when its too messy. otherwise, you'd feel lazy.
