As long as your new phone is not locked into any particular service provider you and use any sim card you like in it.

You can buy a new phone and put your pre-existing SIM card into that phone. Your SIM card stores your service info as well as stored phone numbers and your phone number. The only problem is you are going to pay the full price of the phone which is pretty expensive.

In most cases you can use the same sim. Some newer phones use a newer Sim I think but your network should be able to supply a new one if you need it.

If you are buying a phone make sure it is unlocked or at least locked to the same mobile operator you use.

Yep, no problem.
2 caveats however:

1) make sure the new phone is "unlocked" i.e. it is not restricted to one network operator, (unless of course it is locked to the same operator as you're currently with).

2) make sure you have an external copy of your contacts / phonebook. Most phones these days store the contacts database on memory inside the phone rather than the SIM. If you change phones, chances are you'll lose all your contacts.

Good luck.

Yes, as long as your new 'phone has all the same services as your old one. If it doesn't you may sometimes get problems but the basic 'phone should still work.

Sim cards are usually one standard size so you should be able to transfer it no problem.
