reccommend on the ww2 front, the south pacific in general. My husband loves the history and Ive only found ONE book on any south pacific battle. What would you reccommend and dont be a smart a s s , barnes and nobles workers were no help and either was the internet or I wouldnt be asking, thanks in advance!

1) Tales of the South Pacific by James A. Michener
It's fiction but it's really good! It recieved the 1948 Pulitzer for fiction.

2) Japanese Army in World War II: "The South Pacific and New Guinea, 1942-43" by Gordon Rottman
Very thorough and offers kind of a different view since it's about the Japanese tactics.

3) Allied Air Transport Operations South West Pacific Area in WWII by Robert H. Kelly
I haven't actually read this one, but my dad has. It's more of a reference book, but he claims it's essential for any military historian.

4) The Truth About Kieta: January 1942 by John V. Plunkett
This one focuses on one incident, obviously, but very interesting and accurate.

try going to a used bookstore, my friend owns one and he can always find me the book I want
