You know when you see people, and you think, they are outstanding....what is the essence of what they have?

Is it different for different people, as I suspect?

Brilliance in each individual is subject to interpretation., I may find some one's actions as brilliant, but someone else may view the person as wrong,

Brilliant question!

I have actually begun to see brilliance in everyone. As a coach I generally happen across that particular shining quality early on (say, the second session) and am able to acknowledge it for the client. As you suspected, it is different for each person.... an example is the brilliance that some persons with very little formal education show in great demonstrations of compassion and courage. We each have outstanding qualities... gifts, if you like.... the difference between someone who really stands out and "Joe Normal" lies in the brilliance having been 'discovered' and grown. And, you know what, it is never too late to start working on your own particular area of brilliance!

God bless,

To me, genius is having a great deal of information and knowledge about a single subject. However, I think brilliance is having a broad knowledge base and being able to find the ways the subjects are connected to each other.

Living with high integrity with their own good values. In other words, character.

Each person has different values, different beliefs, as long as these are worthy (for the betterment of others and themselves ), and they are living in mastery of these values, they 'shine'.

i.e. Jesus
Ghandi
Mother Theresa
Martin Luther King Jr.
etc...
