Heres the deal. Has there been any recent changes to social security benefits that now say a child 16 years of age or older who has previously been collecting benefits from a deceased step father will no longer be able to receive benefits. According to information I have received they are still eligible until age 18 or even 19 if they are still in high school. Does anybody know how to research this or do you know from personal experience?

The Social Security Administration has a web site. Or, you can call the nearest SS office and ask your question.
