It's probably a blocked tear duct, they can be common in babies. My friends son has one. He's 5 months and has had it since he was a newborn. It looks just like pink eye, but you can get ointment. If it stays clogged up until a certain age they have to do surgery on the eye. But hopefully your newborn is fine!!

Without actually looking at the eye it is hard to tell. With a clogged tear duct the eye will have discharge in the corner which can easy be wiped away. If it is pink eye the eye will also have some discharge and will remain red in the corners and appear irritated. The only way to really be sure is to take the baby to the doctor.

that can b a blocked tear duct, but u wont know till u actually have the doctors test her eyes out.. instead of wippin her eyes with warm water, try and add little bit of salt and wipe her eyes from the outer eye all the way to te corner. Also with a blocked duct there's not much u can do as she gets older it will get better and the only thing that the doctor will b able to give you is so eye drops, depending on her age.

This happens a lot with newborns as their tear ducts are not formed yet. If you haven't noticed, but when she cries she does not produce any tears. Keep cleaning her eyes, make sure that you only wipe in one direction and use a clean cloth everytime. It will get better. My mom said I had this as a baby but I outgrew it. Good luck. If you are still worried call your dr and they can give you more help.

Take your baby to the doctor, it may be an infection from birth- it has happened. Our baby had pink eye at 5 months old- and she got it from me as I came home from work with it- I teach kindergarten.

Never muck around with problems with the eyes.

If its a blocked tear duct ...its easily fixed with bathing and eye drops, but what do u mean by pink eye? do u mean the eyeball?......if its ths eye ball it could be very serious.........if its only the eye lids then its most likely the eye has become infected from the blocekd tear duct..............whiche ever it is .......she needs medical treatment and FAST!!!

take the poor baby to the doctor. if you don't want the baby, put it up for adoption. or, call a nurseline.... they might be able to help.... if you neglect your child and then take it to the doctor, you will probably get in trouble for neglect..... that means cops called, social services called, and maybe bye bye baby, and no one wants to see that... .jsut take it to the doctor and quit asking all of these questions online!
