I have a 1992 GMC Seirra & it runs great.
My problem is with the ignition modul.
In the last 18 months it's been replaced 6 or 7 times and a few times the coil also has been replaced.
I've had a complete tune up recently and it still keeps burning out.
The garage I go to has no idea why this keeps happining.
Is anyone able to please help me? This is driving me crazy.

Why should they fix it if you keep giving them money to screw it up? Any number of loose wires or an improperly installed coil could be sending spikes and surges into the module. The modules might not be bad, but they're just wiggling the same bad connector every time they change it. Quit being such a slow learner and stopped getting ripped off by the same chimpanzees.

The first thing are they putting in GM ignition module if they are make shear the are putting dye electric grease under it to make shear it has a good ground and no moister can enter it. Next if the are putting in a remand module like excel or a norther off brand that is your problem i have Sean allot of electric part made by diff rent manufactures that don't hold up like original equip. so make shear the it is a gm module. good luck

Are you taking it back to the same place? There is a special white grease that goes under the ignition module to help cool it. Overlook this and the module will fail.PERIOD.

Next time, ask for the old parts.
At least that way you'll know they realy changed something.

When you say "complete tune up", I sure hope they replaced
1) spark plugs.
2) Distributor cap and rotor.
3) Fuel filter.
4) Plug wires.
there's more, but I didn't want to list them all.
