I'm due in 2 days with my first (It's a boy!), and there are no signs of him coming! :(

Was your first child early, late, or on time?
What were some signs that you were going to go into labor soon?

Thank you :)

Congratulations on your impending birth.

With my first born a son, I tried everything to have him a few days to weeks early but everything I tried failed. I felt him drop about 3 weeks before his birth and he was begining to engage at 6 weeks before. When I finally gave up and thought he was never coming out thats when things started to happen.
On the morning I went into labour I felt very odd, I wasn't getting contractions or anything I just felt odd like something was going to happen but I didn't know what. I had a few relaxing baths to try and make me feel better. At about 3 in the afternoon I started to have really bad period pain. it got to the stage I was stoped in my tracks when I got a contraction (I thought they were just strong brackston hicks) By 6pm I went into the hospital to get checked out to find out I was 6cm dilated so I had to stay. I got in and out of the bath as I wanted and successfully had a water birth.
I had no signs he was coming until he was coming, try and relax and listen to your body. If you feel different then maybe it is starting.

My son was born at 39 weeks 6 days, weighing 6lb 12oz with a 9 hour labour. My second baby a daughter was born at 36 weeks 6 days weighing 6 lb 5.5oz with a 55 minute labour.

With my daughters birth, I had no signs she was coming as she turned around from the breech position at 36 weeks and hadn't droped. My waters broke with her 3.5 hours before her birth, I was able to do everything then go up to the hospital with no contractions but once up at the hospital everything started and it was one ontop of the other very full on. 3 days before her birth I went up to the hospital as I thought I might be in pre labour only to be told they didn't know until the baby arrived. I had brackston hicks for 5 hours lasting about 30 seconds each and about 5 mins apart.

I wish you all the very best and hope your beautiful baby boy arrives safely for a wonderful christmas presant. Enjoy and relax until the time comes. Congratulations.

The baby will tell you when it's ready by sending a hormonal signal to start the labor process.

Babies need a 2 week allowable time after the predicted due date so always remember, that when you are given a date, be flexible for either 2 weeks early or late.

But, it's not that it's early or late, it's just not ready yet. Don't induce labor and get a C section. It requires a longer recovery time for you and it's really not as convenient as they say.

Think of the butterfly emerging from the cocoon... it needs that struggle or the oxygen cannot stimulate to get to the extremities.

For example, helping the butterfly emerge early will not allow it's wings to grow and it will cripple it for life.

The journey through the birth canal stimulates proper autonomic nervous system functioning. Like digestion, lungs (breathing), proper heart beat etc.

My first and only, a boy, was born 2 days early. I had no signs of him coming. I went to work that day, my hips were a little sore ( like they needed to by pushed together) but that was it. My little guy was still doing somersaults inside me, so i figured it would be a while, most drs say the baby quiets down a few days before labor to get ready. then i went home, ate dinner, laid down and started cramping, didn't pay much attention to it, lots of aches and pains in the end:). then my water broke and i had a beautifull boy 10 hrs later. There is no telling, when he is ready, it will hapen. good luck and congratulations.

The National Average for first time babies is 4 days past the due date. My first was 2 days late and my second was 1 day early. I'm sure your delivery will go fine and that you'll be a wonderful mom!

I had mine 5 weeks early!! I could tell that I was in labor when I sat still and I got very tight feelings that came every 2 min. (It started off un comfortable then got really bad really soon!!) You may also have leaking of the water or breaking of it. I lost my mucus plug 5 days before I went into labor!!

My first was a week early. No complications and he was born very quickly (20 minutes of pushing). So don't listen to people who tell you that you'll be in labor for days. You might, but you might not.

The water broke, but it wasn't a gushing like I would expect. We actually weren't sure because it was a very light trickle...if that. The doctor had to confirm that the water had broken. He was born the same day.

My first was 17 days early... my second was 9 days late.

You can naturally induce labor without using any drugs by using your breastpump.... I went into labor in 5 hours with doing that!
I used it on each side for 10 minutes each, then stopped for 10 minutes... then over again for an hour. My sister did it too and it worked for her....

Good luck and congrads!

My first child was born a week before the due date.
To me it started like cramps when you have your periods but 3 times worst. Then i had the urge to go to the bathroom,i stayed in the bathroom for almost hour ...lol!
But don't worry about it,it's not too bad.
And congratulation on your new baby!
