The term is "going to hell in a handbasket", meaning that you or the item being referred to is going into a fire with only the protection of a wicker basket. I hope that clarifies it for you. As opposed to going to hell in an asbestos suit.
And also, I'm not sure what "other" earth that dude is from, but I've seen fowl and fish everywhere. And if God didn't intend for me to eat them, he wouldn't have made them so delicious.

Spam, most seafood, and all fowl. Birds and fish should NOT be eaten by humans, as they are not of the same earth. Probably bbq ribs would also be in the handbasket as well.
A shaker of salt, too. Morton's salt.
