Norse runes and culture?

i need to know a site that has a list of Norse runes and what they mean and also a site for their culture, mainly their gods and what they do.

As far as culture, I'm not aware of any single site that tackles the culture of the Germanic tribes. As an Asatruar, I can tell you our gods and goddesses are no more one-dimensional than you or I. They 'do' a lot of things. You can go here ---> http://asatru-u.org/ for a list of links about the religious aspects of the culture. It is a collection of links meant to educate people with an interest in Germanic heathenry. (The Nordic peoples are one of the original Germanic tribes.)

You can also go here ---> http://groups.yahoo.com/group/norseculture/ and join the group. They research, and recreate, Norse culture. This will give you the opportunity to learn from descendents who have most likely chosen a more secular path to honor their ancestors. (Though I don't doubt you'll bump into a few Asatruar there, too!)

search for the Risting in Yahoo Groups...... an e-mail to the founder might get you an invite....that takes care of the Runes part anyway....for the rest you want to search for things on the Asatru.....
