Where do you live? How much do you want to spend?
Target has some super cute dresses right now. They are part of there limited international brand. Also check out the department stores in your area. Nordstrom Brass Plum has reasonably priced dresses right now. If you looking for something on the pricier side try BLUEFLY for designers stuff. Also Lucky magazine has a great on line shopping guide. Good Luck!

If you live near or in New York, go to the fashion district. For $80 you can own a knockout dress. Pay no attention to the signs on the door that say Wholesale only. Pay no attention to lack of English speaking employees. Find what you like. Haggle like hell and pay cash.

These are my 3 favorite places to find a special occasion dress. They are reasonable and they are dresses that everyone else at prom are not necessarily gonna have on.

Goodwill. Seriously, I am active in local theater and shop these places for costumes. I have seen beautiful dresses, only worn once, for next to nothing in price. Some still have the original price tags on.
