make a donation in their name. Stationary with all their names on it. Anything monogrammed or that has the family name on it makes a nice gift. Gift cards to a family restaurant are also nice.

Look on the internet for the true story of christmas and write it out real fancy for them to display in a frame on their wall.

Something you have made with your own two hands. An original that they cannot get anywhere else. The proof that you think of them and care about them with something that took time to find or create.

write them a poem.
bake them a wonderful treat.
sing them a song
or compose a song for them.
take them skating (provide an experience instead of an item)
or some other experience.
invite them for dinner
take a picture of them having fun, then frame and give it to them.
