Who Thinks Smoking Should be illegal?

I am doing a research paper on why smokeing should be illegal and i want to do a survay so please answer to help me

You will find that the people who smoke will say no and the ones that dont will say yes. It's all about rights (and politics). Think about this for a minute: The alcohol is controilled by the state.(State stores) which get a percentage of sales. The tobacco companies aren't giving them a cut or control so they are always attacking the tobacco industry. Booze is a killer too and dont think it doesnt affect the non-drinker just as second hand smoke does. Find out how many NON drinkers have been killed by drunk drivers. NO, I dont think it should be illegal unless they outlaw alcohol too. Smoking a butt never caused me to kill someone with my vehicle or committ a violent crime because I was too drunk to know the difference or "high". When you are drinking you lose control of u-self (PROVEN FACT that it affects judgement.) Smoking a butt doesnt affect my judgement or reflexes.

I don't. People should have a right to make their own decisions and treat their bodies however they want. Like, there is no law against hurting or killing yourself. However, In a way it should be, because of all the advertising, movies, and people, this sends the message to youth that smoking is cool and acceptable.

I'm kind of pondering the thought that second hand smoke should be illegal however. Its like physically hurting someone in a way without contact.

Well smoking does kill more people on this planet than any other drug known to man-but It will never be illegal because there is too much money to be made and health care costs to raise-speaking as a smoker I still think it should be illegal -unless you are going to decriminalize other drugs that are less-damaging..But y'know it is a choice-no one has to smoke

I did something like that once. Well it really can't be illegal due to the fact it's a major economy and if they take it away then government loses big bucks and then the depression starts once more. I wish it could be illegal but it can't, but I can help you it should be illegal because it kills more people then fires, suicides, car wrecks, etc. combined, it is equivalent to as if two jumbo jets collided and killed all the survivors when it's full.

smoking should NOT be illegal because under the influence people tend to be more focus, and some seem to be more lazy but for whatever reason if it were legal and taxed, there would be a lower rate of violence, proably a lower rate of unemployment but it all depends on the person

I don't smoke, but I think banning it is ridiculous. We should be free to do what we want to our own bodies. I would hate to live in a world where the government controlled everything I injested or did. As long as you are not hurting anyone else, I don't think any body should have any say over your business.

I don't smoke but why should it be illegal?? People should be entitled to treat their bodies as they please, are we going to make fattening food illegal next?? We need to take personal responsibility as far as smoking around children and others who do not smoke for health reasons but if someone wants to light up then so be it.
