Where did Priest go? Is he injured, retired, in free-agency, or is he just a back-up running back right now to L.J.?

-Thanks.

He's been injured since Shawne Merriman hit him over a year ago, leaving him with some head and neck trauma. They've declared his season officially over by not activating him off the physically unable to perform list, but he's said recently that he plans to play in 2007:

I'm not sure about his contract status for next season.

EDIT - He's still under contract for next season with the Chiefs, at $4 million. Of course, they could probably get out of most of that $4m if they were to cut him during the offseason.

He got a major injury to his spinal column last year when playing the Chargers. He got nailed by LIGHTS OUT! Larry Johnson has taken over the starting job at RB, and Priest is unlikely to get is job back. He didn't heal to play with the Chiefs this year and was placed on the "Unable to Perform" list by the Chiefs when trying to make a comeback.

He is old and injured...and he should retire before he seriously hurts himself. He was great, but he has no chance of getting the job back from LJ.

He is injured .....He is not a back up, he is very senior player and LJ was backup for him. Anyway, I like LJ better, I hope KC will trade him somewhere else....I think he should go to Chicago, he dont have a decent RB.

He isthe back up to Larry Johnson. Sometimes he lines up as a fullback. When he got injured they tried LJ out and it turned out to be that he was awesome as the season progressed he became the starting running back.
