TO be honest I would suggest no sand!

I know the companies promote Calci-sand and similar products as 'much better' than normal sand but the gecko's can also eat that too. They sought out calcium in their diet and they do eat sand of that sort. I've had problems with my leo doing that and have seen some horrible pic's of others who became impacted!!

I would suggest using slate or tiles if you don't like the look of paper towels. Leo's do come from cave and rock habitats rather than sand so they would love it to hide in between the cracks and slate tiles are so easy to clean, just soak them in boiling water!!

You can use "Repti-Sand", or "Calci-Sand". They are both pre-treated, and work really well. What kind of Gecko do you have? Usually most people say not to use sand because some types are big, and can cause digestion problems if accidentally swallowed. Some types also are not pre-treated for parasites. I used both these brands at the pet store I worked at, and we never had any problems with either one. Both types come in different colors, both naturals and blues, greens, pink, orange etc.

We bought this reptile stuff at Pet Smart for my gecko..it wasn't sand but it was still sand-like. It was blue, but I don't remeber what it was called. It was supposed to also be healthier for them.

i agree, do not use real ordinary sand. you can however buy something out there called Calci-Sand. it looks like sand but is made from calcium so they can digest it if they eat any by mistake. regular sand will cause bowel obstructions if eaten.
