My modem works fine in the Am,but seldom works in the evening.

Your modem is fine. Your ISP is just busier on evenings and weekends, so that's when it's harder to get online. Ask your ISP if there's anything that can be done about it. They may have you try a different access number and/or different connection settings. Give them a call and see what they can do for you.

That doesn't sound normal to me. What kind of connection do you have. ...broadband or dialup? I suggest that you contact your ISP and see if they can solve your problem. Good suggestion from lv_consultant. I wish I would have thought of that.

are you using dial-up? if so it's because the local access numbers that you are using are all busy. try some different access numbers but make sure they are in your local calling area or you be charged for toll calls...
